David Tarantino

David Tarantino is a Marin County native and a co-founder of Portico Wealth Advisors, LLC, a Bay Area registered investment advisory (RIA) firm he launched in January 2010 alongside partner Jonathan D. Leidy. At Portico he serves as a Founding Partner and Managing Member, overseeing the firm's general business operations, client planning and account management, and its investment activities. As of December 31, 2024, the firm managed roughly $264.0 million on a discretionary basis from its office at 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Suite 218, Larkspur, CA.

Tarantino brings more than 30 years of financial-services experience. He began his career in commercial banking at Wells Fargo, then built the bulk of his wealth-management experience at several small-to-mid-sized RIA firms, serving as a shareholder and partner where he helped implement client services, directed firm development, and led the integration of multi-asset investing before co-founding Portico. His stated investment philosophy is risk-conscious: "I can sleep at night if we lose a relationship due to not making enough money for a client. But I won't sleep if we fail a client because we lost too much."
