Derek Elliott

Derek Elliott is a TMT-focused private equity investor with more than 25 years in the industry. He trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Arthur Andersen in London, where he worked in Corporate Finance and Corporate Recovery / turnaround consulting before moving into investing. He went on to become a Principal in the technology team at Permira, one of Europe's largest buyout firms.

In 2006 he co-founded Darwin Private Equity, a London mid-market buyout firm, where he served as Managing Partner. Darwin's deals over his tenure included household names such as Travelodge and The Automobile Association (AA), alongside TMT businesses. He remained associated with Darwin while building a broad track record across technology, media and telecom companies.

In September 2018 Elliott joined Inflexion Private Equity Partners as a Partner, initially in its "Partnership Capital" (minority investing) team and subsequently as Co-Head of Technology, where he originated and led investments with a particular focus on technology. Today Elliott is best known as a chair, non-executive director and board adviser. He has sat on EO Group's board for over a decade, having first backed the company in 2010.
