Background
Don Boggus is a Georgia-based finance executive and principal of Frontline Capital Partners. Public corporate records and business listings identify him as CEO, president, owner, and principal of Frontline-related entities in Jasper, Georgia. Frontline Capital Partners describes itself publicly as an investment banking and M&A advisory firm focused on middle-market exit-strategy planning and M&A.
Before Frontline, Boggus spent much of his career in community banking. Crescent Banking Company’s 2010 SEC Form 10-K says he began his banking career with C&S National Bank in 1984 while attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, then worked as a staff accountant for a regional accounting firm and as controller of Etowah Bank in Canton, Georgia. He joined Crescent Bank as controller in March 1989, later served as CFO of the bank and holding company, and became president and CEO in April 1996.
Boggus served on the boards of Crescent Bank, Crescent Mortgage Services, and Crescent Banking Company, and was secretary of Crescent Mortgage Services. Crescent Bank & Trust was closed by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance on July 23, 2010, with the FDIC appointed receiver; Renasant acquired the bank’s operations in an FDIC-assisted transaction.
Boggus remains connected to the Jasper community. The Joy House, a Georgia nonprofit serving teens and families, lists Don Boggus on its board as “Principal | Frontline Capital Partners.”
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Frontline Capital Partners is best supported by sources as an M&A advisory and investment-banking platform, not as a conventional seed-stage venture fund.
- The firm’s public positioning is middle-market M&A and exit-strategy planning; its LinkedIn page states that “FCP is an M&A Advisory and Exit Strategy Planning Firm for the Middle Market.”
- Frontline’s 2024 PRWeb announcement says the firm specializes in “developing capitalization, growth and liquidity event strategies” for clients across a wide range of industry verticals.
- Verified transaction activity suggests interest in strategically aligned operating businesses where combinations can expand service offerings, geographic reach, or customer value.
- No verified public source was found for a standard angel-investor check size, seed-stage mandate, or venture-style portfolio thesis for Boggus personally.
Notable Investments
- Automated Systems Design / Strong Systems International: Frontline Capital Partners advised ASD in its February 2024 acquisition/merger with Strong Systems International, a security, life-safety, and network communications integrator; ASD was backed by RAF Equity.
- Ivy Urban Living: Multi-Housing News reported in July 2023 that Frontline Capital Partners sold Ivy Urban Living, a 228-unit multifamily community in Dallas, to SPI Advisory and 1031 exchange partners.
- Frontline Capital Mortgage, LLC: Georgia Secretary of State records list Frontline Capital Mortgage, LLC as an active Georgia LLC formed April 17, 2014, with Don Boggus as registered agent.
