Doug Kingsley co-founded Guidepost Growth Equity and is currently listed by the firm as Co-Founder and Senior Advisor. Guidepost was launched in 2007 as North Bridge Growth Equity and rebranded as Guidepost Growth Equity in 2017. Before Guidepost, Kingsley was Managing Director and Co-Head of Advent International’s North American Investment Group. A Proto Labs SEC filing states that he held roles at Advent International from January 1990 to December 2006, most recently as Special Partner, and became a General Partner at North Bridge in January 2007.
Earlier in his career, Kingsley held operating roles at Teradyne and at Alcan Aluminum’s venture capital arm. He has more than three decades of growth equity experience and has served on more than 30 boards of private and public technology companies. He served as a director of Proto Labs beginning in August 2008 and was a member of its compensation committee.
Kingsley earned an M.B.A. with Distinction from Harvard Business School, an A.B. from Dartmouth College, and a B.E. from Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering. Guidepost also lists him as Chairman of the Abigail Adams Institute at Harvard, a board member of the Becket Fund, and a former Trustee of Providence College.
