Eero Hautaniemi

Eero Hautaniemi is a Partner in CapMan Infra, the infrastructure investment arm of CapMan Plc, a listed Nordic private-assets manager. He has spent his entire infrastructure career at CapMan, joining in 2018 as an Investment Associate, advancing to Investment Manager (2020–2023), then Investment Director (2023), and on to Partner. He is based in Helsinki. (Note: he is a different individual from the similarly-named former Oriola-KD and Lassila & Tikanoja CEO; the timelines and biographies do not overlap.)

Before CapMan, Hautaniemi built a foundation in corporate finance and debt markets at Nordea, starting as an Analyst Intern in Fixed Income (2014) and then working as an Analyst in Leveraged Finance (2015–2017). That leveraged-finance grounding is consistent with CapMan Infra's strategy of acquiring and capitalizing operating infrastructure businesses.

He studied at the Aalto University School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Studies (2009–2012, including exchange studies at Umeå University in 2011) and a Master of Science in Finance (2013–2016).

In his current role he is active in deal origination and portfolio oversight, particularly in the transportation infrastructure space. He sits on the boards of CapMan Infra portfolio companies, including Finland's largest bus operator Koiviston Auto and the CapMan Infra DC (data centre) Platform, and he has been a named spokesperson on recent CapMan Infra transactions such as the 2026 acquisition of Baltic bus operator Hansabuss.

• Targets essential, infrastructure-grade businesses with stable, often regulated or contracted cash flows — not venture/seed bets.
• Strong thematic focus on public transportation and the green transition: CapMan Infra backs operators and then funds fleet electrification, low-emission upgrades, and operational improvement.
• On the Hansabuss deal he framed the rationale around heritage and essential-service positioning: *"We are proud to invest in a company with a strong heritage and culture, as well as an important role in public transportation in Estonia and Latvia."*
• Says yes to platforms it can scale and decarbonize — e.g., consolidating regional transport operators and investing capital into electric/low-emission fleets ahead of market liberalization.
