Ekaterina Elizarova

Ekaterina Elizarova is the Investment Director at Essedel Group, a Helsinki-based private equity firm founded in 1995 by managing partner Mihail Malkov. Before joining Essedel, she built her career in financial consulting, working from 2007 at major international and Russian advisory firms including KPMG and Financial Consulting Group (FCG). In those roles she served as a project manager on financial modeling, asset valuation, and financial due diligence engagements.

Her consulting work covered building financial models and conducting business valuations for companies operating across agriculture, telecommunications, media, retail, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors throughout Russia and the CIS. This gave her hands-on exposure to a broad cross-section of mid-market industries before she moved into a principal investing role.

Elizarova joined the Essedel team in 2011 and has since been involved across the firm's projects, performing a wide scope of work that includes due diligence, financial modeling, analysis, financial control, and the preparation of presentation materials. She has also served on the board of a portfolio company, giving her direct post-investment monitoring experience alongside her sourcing and structuring work.

She holds a diploma with honors in mathematics from Moscow State University (Lomonosov Moscow State University), reflecting the quantitative foundation she brings to financial modeling and valuation.
