Elon Boms

Elon Boms co-founded LaunchCapital in January 2008 alongside investors Karen Pritzker and Michael Vlock (of the Pritzker Vlock Family Office), building the firm into an early participant in the modern seed-investing industry. Its stated aim was to give entrepreneurs quick access to seed capital and mentorship. The firm is backed by a permanent capital base and operates from Boston, New Haven, and New York, having historically also maintained a San Francisco Bay Area presence. Boms serves as the firm's Founder and Chairman and is also described as Managing Director of Pritzker Vlock (PV) Capital Management.

Over his career, Boms has led more than 250 investments across a range of industries and geographies and has served on the boards of over 40 companies. According to the firm and speaker bios, he has helped raise over $3 billion in capital for leading and emerging companies and been involved in more than $1 billion of M&A transactions. LaunchCapital reports its portfolio performance has placed it among the top tier of venture funds worldwide (the firm's site cites top 10% since 2010; other bios cite top 20% since 2008).

Boms holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Economics from George Washington University. His earlier professional experience spans brand management, strategy consulting, and finance. He has also taught at the Yale School of Management, leading courses on Private Equity & Venture Capital and on Entrepreneurial Finance.
