Eric Falcao

Eric Falcão is a technology founder and engineering leader with roughly two decades of experience building scalable, real-time software infrastructure. In 2010 he co-founded Mass Relevance in Austin alongside CEO Sam Decker (a former Dell executive and founding CMO of Bazaarvoice) and Brian Dainton, serving as CTO/Co-Founder. Mass Relevance pioneered the integration of social media into live television, powering real-time social experiences for broadcasters and brands across platforms like Twitter and Facebook. The company raised early venture funding (a reported ~$2M round in December 2010) and its technology earned Falcão a share of the 2014 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for innovation in improving engagement around television via social media.

In April 2014, Mass Relevance merged with Spredfast, forming one of the largest social marketing software companies. Falcão became CTO of the combined Spredfast, where he led the consolidation of engineering teams, modernized the company's AWS infrastructure onto Kubernetes, and accelerated release cadence from roughly twice a month to multiple deploys per day. He architected a social-media indexing engine capable of ingesting on the order of 10,000 documents per second and handling tens of thousands of API requests per second, driving significant AWS cost savings. Under his technical leadership the company scaled its SaaS suite past $100M ARR before its 2018 merger with Lithium (the combined entity later became Khoros).

Since leaving the Spredfast/Khoros world, Falcão has focused on angel investing and startup advising, helping founders with technical strategy, roadmap, hiring, fundraising, due diligence, and compliance. He also founded a personal venture, "Fairly Fantastic," to prototype ideas in AI and email security. In April 2025 he joined Cloudflare as a Principal Systems Engineer (Data), based in Austin.
