Erick Pereda

Erick E. Pereda is a New York–based strategy and corporate development executive, fintech founder, and venture investor. He holds an MBA (Global Executive focus) from IESE Business School at the University of Navarra, where he also serves as an alumni mentor. His career spans large financial institutions and investment platforms — he has held roles including Global Head of Corporate Development at Foresters Financial, Managing Director of strategy and corporate development at ArgoFund and City Alliance Bancorp, and earlier positions connected to institutions such as Citigroup, JP Morgan, and Amalgamated Bank. He has also worked as an Emerging Markets infrastructure investment principal at KGL Investment, covering logistics, transport, and infrastructure across the Middle East, Asia, and other emerging markets.

Today Pereda is a Partner at The InsurTech Fund, a fund launched as a partnership between PLG Venture Capital, LLC (PLGVC) and InsurTech NY (ITNY). PLGVC is a New York firm whose partners collectively bring "over 70 years of combined experience … as operators, investors, and entrepreneurs in the financial services sector, including insurance." The fund is co-led by David Gritz (co-founder of InsurTech NY) alongside Pereda, combining PLGVC's investing experience with InsurTech NY's ecosystem of accelerator programs, competitions, and its annual conference.

Beyond insurance, Pereda is an active voice on fintech, blockchain, and financial inclusion. He is the founder of Latitud Wallet, an effort to bring financial services to underbanked families, and the author/founder behind depereda.com (a Fintech/Web3 knowledge hub, "Ledger Impact"), where he writes on tokenization, Web3, and building a fairer economy. He has previously served as a Managing Director at Americas Venture and as an advisory board member at social-venture platform VedasLabs, and describes his work as shaping the fintech and insurtech ecosystems across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.
