Background

Eytan J. Lombroso is a senior executive and angel investor with more than 30 years of experience across investment banking, commercial banking, management consulting, medical technology, and advanced technology companies. His education includes a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, an MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, and study in MIT's Advanced Executive Graduate Program.

Lombroso spent 14 years as a senior executive at JP Morgan Chase, where his work included internet-related strategies and investments for retail banking businesses, building e-commerce and international card entities in Asia and Latin America, restructuring Chase Merchant Services, and managing the retail-bank merger between Chemical Bank and Chase. A Chase Alumni Association note by Lombroso says that in the winter of 2000 he joined Chase.com's newly formed technology unit, where the team reviewed more than 200 startups and assessed business plans, technology platforms, and management teams.

After Chase, Lombroso served as Senior Managing Director at Allegiance Capital, a middle-market investment bank, with responsibilities for East Coast and Israel offices and a focus on advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. He also served earlier as a senior consultant at Coopers & Lybrand, where he worked on restructuring and turnaround engagements.

In medical technology, Lombroso has been associated with Magnetecs, Neuro-Kinesis, NeOnc Technologies, HeartChain, and MyoPatch. Equilar lists him as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at Magnetecs; SEC Form D filings for Magnetecs also name Eytan Lombroso as an executive officer, director, and promoter. Key Bridge Advisory Group describes him as focused on value creation and change management through market, product, and technology differentiation.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Lombroso's best-documented angel activity is first-round investing: the New York Observer identified him as one of E4X's first-round investors.
  • His own stated investment lens emphasizes team quality as well as technology. Discussing E4X, he said: "you don't only invest in technology; you invest in management."
  • He appears most relevant to founders building differentiated technology in healthcare, medtech, biotech, fintech, e-commerce infrastructure, and other sectors where product and technology differentiation can create strategic value.
  • His background suggests he is useful where a company needs more than capital: corporate finance, M&A positioning, restructuring, commercialization, strategic partnerships, and cross-border expansion.
  • No public source found a standard angel check size; do not assume one.
