Background

Fabio Greco is a co-founder and portfolio manager of Vision Brazil Investments, the São Paulo-based alternative-asset management firm he helped establish in 2006. The firm manages on the order of US$750 million to roughly US$2 billion (reported as more than R$3.9 billion in assets) on behalf of family offices, pension funds, hedge funds and private equity investors across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It is regulated by the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM) and specializes in origination, structuring and management of high-yield and special-situations investments in real assets.

Before Vision Brazil, Greco was a founding partner of Capitânia Asset & Risk Management. Earlier in his career he headed the Derivatives Trading Desk of Bank of America in Brazil, running the market-making desks for FX options, interest-rate options and cross-currency swaps. Prior to that he spent two years at Banco Patrimônio (a Salomon Brothers subsidiary) leading its derivatives and proprietary trading desks, and six years at Chase Manhattan on the derivatives trading desk — a career grounded in markets, risk and structured products rather than early-stage venture.

Greco holds a bachelor's degree in Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo, a master's degree in Financial Mathematics from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland. At Vision Brazil he works alongside co-founders and partners including Amaury Fonseca Junior (Founder, CIO), Chow H. Juei, Fernando Raul Morelli (CFO) and Primo Aldrigue Junior.

> Note on the stub data: The provided stub labeled Fabio Greco an "Angel Investor" writing "Seed Round" checks. Available primary and secondary sources do not support this — Vision Brazil Investments is an institutional alternative-asset/private-equity manager focused on structured credit and real assets. The contact email and São Paulo phone number check out; the "angel/seed" classification appears to be a misclassification and has been corrected above.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests through pooled institutional funds in real assets and special situations in Brazil, not startup equity.
  • Core strategies span structured credit, natural resources, real estate and (more recently) blockchain innovation, with deep expertise in distressed debt, restructured government debt, agricultural credit, farmland ownership/production, renewable energy and food security.
  • Firm positioning, in its own words, centers on the "origination, structuring and management of high-yield and special situations investments in real assets."
  • Seeks yield and asset-backed downside protection — collateralized, cash-generating or hard-asset positions — rather than growth-equity or venture upside.
  • Raises and deploys capital primarily on behalf of global institutional LPs (US, European, Middle Eastern and Asian institutions).

Notable Investments

  • Vision Piauí Fund — restructured/government-debt and structured-credit strategy tied to the state of Piauí.
  • Vision Chapadão, Vision Sapezal, Vision São Domingos, Vision Borda da Serra, Vision Terçado, Vision Sço/SCO funds — agricultural land, farmland production and natural-resource / structured-credit vehicles.
  • Emerging Asset Backed Fund (III & IV) / SCO7 & SCO8 Partners LP — asset-backed and special-situations credit funds.
  • Vision FCVS PB Fund & Vision FCVS RJ Fund — funds built around Brazilian FCVS (housing-finance) restructured-credit claims.
