Background
Faruk İnaltekin was born in 1984 and earned a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / METU) in Ankara, graduating in 2007. He began his career as a University–Industry Collaboration Expert at METUTECH (ODTÜ Teknokent), METU's technology park, working at the intersection of academic research and commercialization.
In January 2013 he joined Bilkent CYBERPARK — Turkey's first private university technopark, founded in 2002 by Bilkent University and Bilkent Holding — as Director of the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Department. Since October 2016 he has served as the technopark's General Manager (CEO). Under his leadership Bilkent CYBERPARK has grown into one of Turkey's largest technoparks, hosting roughly 240 R&D companies, 5 research centers, a micro/nano chip facility and around 4,000 employees across ~115,000 m² of indoor space.
Beyond running the park, İnaltekin holds several ecosystem leadership positions. He has been Chairman of the Association of Turkish Technology Parks (Teknoloji Geliştirme Bölgeleri Derneği, TGBD) since March 2017, a Board Member of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), and a member of a UNESCO Turkey committee. He is also a WBAF (World Business Angels Investment Forum) Senator and a recurring speaker/moderator at the World Congress of Angel Investors (WBAF 2019, 2024), where his focus is technoparks, technology transfer, funds and startups.
