Felix Faltin

Felix Faltin spent more than four years as the digital-health investing lead at Speedinvest, a pan-European early-stage venture capital firm headquartered in Vienna. He joined in February 2018 and served as Principal / Head of Digital Health Investments until May 2022, building and supporting a portfolio described across his speaker bios as 15–18+ digital-health companies across roughly nine European countries. He invested in and took board roles at a dozen early-stage startups during that time.

His path to venture capital was rooted in healthcare and public policy rather than finance. After studying philosophy and economics in the UK (PPE, University of Warwick) and public policy in the United States (Master of Public Policy, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.), he worked for the public health commissioner in his hometown of Vienna on healthcare reform initiatives. He then joined the global healthcare group Fresenius, where he expanded a portfolio of specialized inpatient and rehabilitation services across Europe and Asia.

Before moving into venture, Faltin served as a technology and economic-policy advisor to the Austrian government. In that role he worked on frontier-technology policy — for example, crafting legislation to permit autonomous-vehicle testing on public roads and helping spearhead the foundation of a large research center focused on semiconductor/sensor integration. This blend of clinical-system, corporate-healthcare, and government experience shaped his focus on digital health at Speedinvest.

In June 2022 Faltin left Speedinvest to co-found haelsi, an Austrian hybrid (online + physical) health center based in Vienna, where he serves as Co-Founder & CEO alongside Christopher Pivec. By 2024, haelsi reported serving roughly 20,000 patients with 80+ doctors and therapists across multiple Vienna locations, and counts prominent Austrian angel Hansi Hansmann among its backers.
