Background
Fernando X. Donayre is a native Peruvian investor with more than thirty years of experience in Latin American markets. He is the founder, CEO, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Principal of INCA Investments, LLC, a Miami-headquartered investment advisory firm he launched in 2004 that specializes in the public equity markets of Latin America. The firm manages roughly US $600 million on behalf of institutional investors, focusing on listed Latin American securities.
Donayre holds both the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designations, and his education includes the University of Florida. He is a registered investment adviser, with a regulatory record filed through the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure system. He is frequently cited as a commentator on the Latin American investment environment, including interviews with CNBC, and has spoken at industry events such as the Columbia/NYU MBA Latin American Business Conference (February 2020) and the 20-20 Investor Conference in Mexico City (April 2019).
In 2018, leveraging his decades in Latin American public markets, Donayre founded INCA Ventures, an early-stage venture fund based in Lima focused on the Andean region. He launched it to back talented local entrepreneurs and to help foster the growing economies of Peru and its neighbors, betting on the rapid development of the region's technology ecosystems. INCA Ventures positions itself as a provider of "catalytic capital" plus the operational know-how and global investor network that flow from the broader INCA platform.
