Background
Francesco Aurelio Santinon is a British-Italian private equity investor and company director. Public Companies House filings list current directorships at Resana Limited, appointed 5 January 2024; Project Neptune Topco Limited, appointed 9 December 2024; and Iridium Topco Limited, appointed 3 October 2025. Search-indexed Companies House data also lists him as a designated member of Resana Partners LLP from 1 July 2026.
Santinon is best known for his period at Endless LLP, the UK private equity firm focused on complex mid-market situations. FinTech Scotland’s CardSwitcher profile states that he joined Endless in 2013, led the London office and investment activity in the South East, and was involved in deals including Gradus, The Book People, Ink Media, Brabant Alucast, Arran Aromatics, and Affinity Workforce. Companies House records show he was an LLP designated member of Endless LLP from 1 December 2015 until 30 April 2022.
Earlier in his career, Santinon ran the buy-out business of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, was an investment director at Close Brothers Private Equity, and trained as a chartered accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. ExecAtlas, citing an Endless biography, also lists University of Glasgow education.
He was also a founder/operator: FinTech Scotland says Cardswitcher.co.uk was founded in 2013 by Stephen Hart and Francesco Santinon to provide transparent, comparable card-processing pricing for smaller businesses.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Focuses on complex private equity situations rather than conventional venture seed investing. Endless describes itself as “working fast and smart to revitalise businesses in complex situations.”
- Prefers businesses where operational improvement, stakeholder management, and transaction certainty matter. Endless says it provides tailored investment strategies for “unique challenges and opportunities” and works on family-owned transitions, carve-outs, complex buy-outs, and special situations.
- At Endless, the core fund targets UK and international businesses with £50 million to £1 billion turnover; the firm also has Enact for smaller UK lower-mid-market businesses with £10 million to £50 million turnover.
- Sector focus is practical and operational: Endless says its investments are focused in Food & Beverage, Industrials, Business Services, and Consumer.
- Santinon’s own quoted philosophy from Endless, preserved by ExecAtlas, emphasizes speed, certainty, stakeholder responsibility, and the ability to “create value and opportunity in a wide range of situations.”
- In a 2018 Brabant Alucast exit announcement, Santinon said Endless continued to look for “transformational opportunities in the UK and Europe” guided by maximizing positive impact on the economy and society.
