Background

Frank de Frémery is a Netherlands-based digital-infrastructure executive and advisor whose career spans roughly three decades in telecommunications and data centers. He studied at the University of Amsterdam (1988–1994). He began his career at AT&T / AT&T Unisource, then moved to Global Crossing in the United States, followed by Linxtelecom in Eastern Europe. Over the years he has held senior commercial roles including VP of Sales at Linxdatacenter, manager at T-Systems, director at CenturyLink, and Chief Commercial Officer of the Curaçao Technology Exchange.

He was Chief Executive Officer of TRES Networks, a small Curaçao-based fixed and international long-distance telecom operator and digital-TV distributor (the company was acquired by Digicel Group in March 2016) — the source of his [hidden] email. After his time in the Caribbean he returned to the Netherlands to lead the data-center practice at boutique advisory firm AC Niellsen, where he spent close to six years.

In 2022 he joined EXA Infrastructure as Head of Data Centers & Colocation, responsible for driving efficiency and growth of its data-center and colocation business, a role he held into 2024. More recently he has worked as a consultant to Kao Data and as an Advisor to the Board at Greenergy Data Centers. Today he is Owner and Founder of Aiswave Consulting in Amsterdam, and describes himself additionally as a public speaker, host of the "Herontdekken" podcast, a UK property investor, and an executive/management coach focused on business growth.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Positioned as an angel/seed-stage investor and advisor, with deep operating roots in digital infrastructure: data centers, colocation, connectivity and telecom.
  • Domain expertise centers on efficiency, growth and go-to-market for infrastructure businesses — the areas he ran at EXA Infrastructure, AC Niellsen and Linxdatacenter.
  • Beyond startup equity, he is active as a UK property investor and as a growth coach for executives, suggesting a hands-on, operator-advisor style rather than passive capital.
  • Note: publicly verifiable startup check sizes and a named angel portfolio are not documented in available sources; the "Angel Investor / Seed" designation reflects his investor-database categorization and advisory activity.

Notable Investments

  • No specific startup angel investments are publicly documented in the sources reviewed. His most relevant "deals" are operating/advisory rather than venture: leadership at TRES Networks (Curaçao telecom, acquired by Digicel Group, 2016) and board-advisory work with Greenergy Data Centers and Kao Data.
