Frederic Banzet

Frédéric Banzet was born in 1958. He holds a law degree and is a graduate of ISTEC and Harvard Business School. He joined the PSA Peugeot Citroën group in 1982 in its Corporate Finance Department, beginning a multi-decade career inside the Peugeot industrial and financial world. Early on he specialized in automotive finance: in 1990 he moved to London as Chief Operating Officer of PSA Finance UK (Banque PSA Finance), returning to France in 1995 as Vice-President, Marketing and Development at Crédipar.

From 1999 he took on senior commercial and international leadership roles, serving as Vice-President for Asia-Pacific Operations in Peugeot's International Affairs Division, then moving to the Citroën brand as Vice-President of International Sales and Marketing (2004) and Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Europe (2007). In June 2009 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Citroën brand, a role he held until June 2014.

In parallel with his operating career, Banzet has been embedded in the Peugeot family's investment governance. He became a Board Member of FFP (now Peugeot Invest) in 1999 and of Etablissements Peugeot Frères in 2010. After leaving Citroën, he became a Senior Partner of Peugeot Invest (FFP) in September 2014, and from 2015 to 2022 served as Chairman and CEO of the group's London vehicle, FFP Investment UK Limited (renamed Peugeot Invest UK Limited around March 2021), running the family holding's UK investment activity.

On 28 March 2022 he was appointed Chairman of Etablissements Peugeot Frères (EPF), the family's controlling parent above Peugeot Invest — a central position in the governance of the Peugeot family's wealth. He has also served as an advisor to Emil Frey France.

• Operates within Peugeot Invest's strategy of being a long-term minority shareholder, favoring companies "with similar characteristics" — typically family-owned businesses that are leaders in their industry.
• Firm strategy is built on three pillars: direct and co-investments, private-equity fund commitments, and listed equity holdings (plus real estate).
• Private-equity fund program (active since 2002) spans Europe and the US, with individual fund commitments generally €25m–€75m, used to access a broad universe of sectors and geographies.
• Patient capital orientation: Peugeot Invest manages roughly €8bn of net asset value and emphasizes durable, multi-year holds rather than short-cycle venture exits.
• Banzet's personal mandate at FFP/Peugeot Invest UK was building and overseeing the family holding's UK-based investment activity from London.
