Background
Fritz Schweiger is the founder, CEO and main shareholder of Q·ADVISERS, an investment and corporate finance boutique he established in London in 2010 together with a close network of successful entrepreneurs to serve their own investment needs. The firm describes itself as a platform that "sources, analyses and structures" club investments — bringing co-investors together around individual opportunities — and operates across venture capital, private equity, real estate and listed securities. Its main offices are in London and Vienna.
Before building Q·ADVISERS, Schweiger had a substantial career in investment banking. He formed and led, as CEO, CA IB Securities London, the Austrian niche investment bank focused on Central and Eastern Europe, and went on to manage UniCredit's Global Equity Distribution. He is described on his firm's pages as a "creative entrepreneur and investor."
Schweiger holds a Doctor's degree in Law and a Master's degree (MBA) in Business Administration, both from the University of Innsbruck. He is also a chartered CEFA (Certified European Financial Analyst) and a qualified journalist.
Within the Q·ADVISERS group, Schweiger runs QC·VENTURES, the Vienna-based "deal-by-deal" venture capital arm, as well as overseeing the real estate arm Q·REAL and corporate finance/M&A activities. Rather than operating a traditional closed-end fund, QC·VENTURES invests as a principal alongside aligned partners — family offices, asset managers, accelerators, business angels and venture funds — on a case-by-case basis. He leads a team that includes Jade Kim (CFO, Head of M&A), partners Thomas Bogdanowicz, Alex Götzinger and Markus Ulreich, and Daniel Rossmann (CEO of Q·Real), among others.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Deal-by-deal, club/co-investment model: QC·VENTURES is the venture arm of Q·ADVISERS and "operates as a deal-by-deal principal investor rather than a traditional fund, typically co-investing with aligned partners."
- Backs founders and lean teams: Stated preference for "small, flexible organisations with room for entrepreneurial talent, change and spirit," and a focus on "exceptional founders with outstanding ideas."
- Cross-stage: Investments span seed (e.g., TriLite), Series A (e.g., Rejuveron) and pre-IPO (e.g., ATAI Life Sciences) — reflecting an opportunistic, conviction-led rather than mandate-bound approach.
- Thematic sectors: Climate/clean tech, life sciences and longevity biotech, fintech, deep tech (AR/VR optics, aerospace), and alternative proteins/food tech — alongside the group's parallel real estate and special-situations activity.
- Network-driven: Operates "through networks of like-minded professionals who collaborate across regional and corporate boundaries," consistent with the broader Q·ADVISERS philosophy of bringing co-investors together around outstanding opportunities.
