George Watts

George Watts is a Managing Director on the H.I.G. Infrastructure team, based in New York. He joined H.I.G. Capital in March 2022 alongside Antonio Botija, as part of H.I.G.'s expansion of its senior infrastructure team. He brings approximately 20 years of infrastructure investing experience spanning a wide range of industries, including energy transition, transportation, and communications.

Prior to H.I.G., Watts was a Managing Director at Stonepeak Partners — a large, infrastructure-focused private investment firm founded in 2011 that invests across infrastructure, real estate, and credit, with concentrations in digital infrastructure, energy & energy transition, and transport & logistics. At Stonepeak, Watts led multiple investments in both the firm's flagship North American Infrastructure Fund and its Global Renewable Energy Fund.

He began his career at J.P. Morgan, where he advised clients on M&A transactions, capital raises, and other strategic initiatives before moving into principal infrastructure investing. Watts earned his B.A. in Engineering from Dartmouth College.
