Background
Guillem Augé is a Partner at Miura Partners, a purpose-driven private equity firm headquartered in Barcelona (with a Madrid office) that invests in Southern European small- and mid-size family-owned and entrepreneurial businesses. Since its founding in 2008, Miura has invested in more than 60 companies for an aggregate value in excess of €3.0 billion and manages roughly €1.2 billion in assets. In 2024 the firm raised over €800 million across three strategies — its fourth flagship fund, its debut impact fund, and a healthcare continuation fund.
Augé joined Miura in 2012 from McKinsey & Company, where he had worked as a strategy consultant. He was promoted to Partner in 2020. Over his tenure he has focused on the firm's sustainability-related investments, worked hands-on in the day-to-day of portfolio companies, and supported the firm's fundraising efforts.
He is one of the managing partners of the Miura Impact Fund, launched in 2022 under the leadership of founder Luis Seguí and managed alongside partners Gustavo Barroeta and Esther Sarsa. The fund closed after raising roughly €135 million (against a €150 million target) and is designed to link its carried interest to specific, measurable impact goals for each portfolio company, mapping every investment to the UN SDGs and frameworks such as GIIN, IRIS+ and the Impact Management Project.
Augé holds a degree and an MBA in Business Administration and Management from ESADE (Barcelona), and studied engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and physical sciences at the Universitat de Barcelona. He is described by the firm as having a deep personal passion for nature and sustainability.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests through the Miura Impact Fund, typically deploying €5M–€15M into high-growth small caps on the Iberian Peninsula that "provide solutions to global challenges."
- Organizes the impact strategy around three themes: healthier lives, thriving communities, and a regenerative planet.
- Targets established, growth-stage SMEs (family-owned and entrepreneurial businesses) — often via majority or significant minority stakes — rather than early-stage/seed startups.
- Requires a measurable impact thesis: every deal is aligned to a UN SDG and assessed with a bespoke tool referencing GIIN, IRIS+ and IMP frameworks; carry is tied to hitting impact KPIs alongside financial returns.
- Sector expertise spans agribusiness, food & beverage, services, and industry, with a clear international/consolidation growth angle.
