Background

Guy P. Drapeau is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and career finance executive in the higher-education and corporate sectors. In February 2025 the University of Hartford announced his appointment as Vice President & Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, a role he assumed on June 1, 2025, succeeding interim CFO Stephen Kenney. He is quoted on his appointment saying, "I've always been a great admirer of UHart, and I'm thrilled to share my higher education experience."

Immediately before joining UHart, Drapeau spent 18 years at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, most recently as Assistant Vice President of Finance and Associate Treasurer. In that capacity he oversaw an annual operating budget in excess of $160 million supporting roughly 750 employees on campus and abroad. His notable accomplishments at Trinity included negotiating and implementing outsourced student housing and health-services arrangements, developing and installing a 1.4 MW fuel-cell system and a campus solar array to improve energy and financial management, and leading an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system integration.

Earlier in his career, Drapeau held corporate finance leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer of Profitec Telecom Services and Controller of Spectrascan Health Services, and began as a staff accountant at local public accounting firms. He holds an MBA in Business Administration from Quinnipiac University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University.

Outside of work, Drapeau lives in Rocky Hill, Connecticut with his wife and two children. He has served on the Rocky Hill Town Council (2003–05) and the town's Zoning Board of Assessment Appeals (2020–present), sits on the Hartford Federal Credit Union advisory board, coached youth baseball and softball for 12 years, and plays drums in a local band.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • No public investment thesis exists. Drapeau's professional focus is institutional financial management, treasury, budgeting, capital/energy projects, and administrative operations for colleges and universities — not startup or venture investing.
  • He has no documented track record of writing angel checks, targeting seed-stage companies, or focusing on any startup sector or geography.

Notable Investments

  • None found. No portfolio companies, deals, or startup investments could be verified for Guy Drapeau. (His "investments" in a professional sense are institutional capital projects such as Trinity College's 1.4 MW fuel cell and campus solar array.)
