Background

Haresh Ved is a Seattle-area technology executive turned angel investor. Before entering venture investing, he spent more than a decade in development and leadership roles at Microsoft Corporation, where he designed, developed, and managed pen-centric computing and mobility technologies and products — including Windows for Pen Computing, Windows CE, Handheld and Pocket PCs, and Tablet PCs — and contributed to internationalizing Microsoft's product offerings. Across his career he describes 25–30+ years of combined corporate and startup experience.

In 2000, Ved founded Cronus Ventures LLC, an early-stage investment firm reportedly formed by a group of former Microsoft executives. Through Cronus he invests in and advises early-stage technology companies, taking what the firm describes as a hands-on, strategically involved approach with its portfolio. He is based in Bellevue, WA, and has been active as an angel investor for roughly two decades.

In 2013, Ved founded and became Chair of the TiE Angels Group Seattle (TAGS), an angel investment network affiliated with TiE Seattle that focuses on funding startups in the Seattle and Northwest region and promotes collaboration across TiE angel chapters globally. He has also served on advisory and/or board roles for companies including Minetta Brook, Unify Square (Unify2), Exponential Entertainment, Versium, and OMNI Retail Group, and is associated with the World Affairs Council.
