Background
Heramb Hajarnavis is the founder and Managing Partner of SeaLink Capital Partners, a growth-equity investment firm he established in Mumbai in 2015. He built the firm on a track record of partnering with entrepreneurs and delivering consistent returns to investors, and brings close to three decades of global investment experience spanning healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, business services and technology.
Before founding SeaLink, Heramb led KKR's private equity business in India from roughly 2010 to 2014, running the firm's principal investing activities in the country. Prior to KKR he spent his career at Goldman Sachs, working out of the firm's New York, Hong Kong and Singapore offices. He was a founding member of Goldman Sachs' India office, where he served as Managing Director and Co-Head of private equity, evaluating opportunities for the firm's global private equity and mezzanine funds.
Academically, Heramb earned an S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS). He was awarded an Aspen Institute Fellowship in 2008. His firm's team is drawn from alumni of KKR, Goldman Sachs, Bain & Co., HBS, MIT and IIT.
SeaLink's strategy centers on a concentrated portfolio of high-potential, mid-sized Indian companies, combining capital with an active value-creation approach in the mid-market segment. Heramb also holds positions connected to the development-finance ecosystem, appearing among the people affiliated with British International Investment (the UK's development finance institution, a common LP/partner in Indian PE).
