Idit Muallem

Idit Muallem-Yedid is a General Partner at Pitango, one of Israel's largest venture capital firms. She joined Pitango in 2013, initially as a principal focused on early-stage investing before transitioning to lead the firm's growth-stage strategy. She played a pivotal role in the 2016 expansion of Pitango's growth-stage investing and in 2018 founded the Pitango Growth Academy, a knowledge-sharing and mentorship program led by industry leaders. She was formally named a partner (alongside Yair Cassuto) and later elevated to General Partner.

Before venture capital, her career was rooted in the operating side of the startup world, where she built expertise in operations and scaling technology ventures. She held senior positions spanning product, marketing, business development, and strategy — including a corporate role at the billing software company Amdocs, product and project management (rising to Senior VP of Marketing) at an OTT/digital-TV startup (Exent Technologies), and business/corporate development work. She grew up in Herzliya, served in the Israeli army as a psychotechnical diagnostician, and is the youngest of four sisters.

She holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Management and an MBA (with an entrepreneurship focus), both from Tel Aviv University. In January 2021 she was named to Globes' "40 Under 40" list, recognizing her leadership in the Israeli startup ecosystem during COVID. She is also an advocate for women in tech and self-advocacy, encapsulated in her frequently quoted line: *"If you think you will be qualified in two years, it means you are already there."*

• Leads growth-stage investing at Pitango, typically Series B–C, writing checks in the ~$1M–$10M range (sweet spot ~$5M).
• Targets companies that have found product-market fit and are scaling — a stated pattern of backing businesses at roughly $10M in revenue with a path to $100M+.
