Public records point to Jürg Bretscher as a Swiss finance professional associated with Privatbank IHAG Zürich AG. A Swiss commercial-register notice republished by Moneyhouse records that “Bretscher, Jürg” left Privatbank IHAG Zürich AG in January 2020, where he was listed as a director with collective signing authority.

Separately, Vontobel identified Jürg Bretscher as portfolio manager of the Vontobel Fund - Swiss Franc Bond, based in Zurich. The fund invested in Swiss-franc-denominated bonds and won Lipper performance awards in Austria and Spain for five- and ten-year performance periods.

PB IHAG itself describes its business as a family-owned independent Swiss private bank with services in private banking, lending, trading, asset management, portfolio management, pension planning, family-office services, tax and succession planning, and strategic advice. In September 2024, PB IHAG announced the transfer of most of its client business to Vontobel and said it planned to return its banking license and wind down remaining positions after closing.

I did not find reliable public evidence that Jürg Bretscher currently operates as an angel investor, publishes an angel-investing thesis, or maintains a public startup portfolio.
