Jan Becker

Jan Becker is a serial entrepreneur and investor who began his career at Lycos Europe, one of the first major search-engine brands, before moving into business development at Scout24. He went on to become CEO of FriendScout24, one of Europe's leading online dating platforms, and later launched his own first company in 2007. He studied economics in Freiburg and Paris, and — unusually for an investor — competed as a professional athlete, becoming a ten-time German gymnastics champion; he remains an active pilot and competitive triathlete.

As an operator-turned-founder, Becker co-founded Ada Health, the AI symptom-checking platform that grew into a globally recognized digital-health company, and co-founded Enmacc, an energy-trading marketplace, where he has also served as a board member. He has been a shareholder and advisory-board member at be2 and a board member at Online Personals Group (OPG), reflecting deep experience across consumer internet, marketplaces, and healthtech.

On the investing side, Becker co-founded the 10x Group and, over his career, has personally backed more than 300 early-stage internet, platform, and software startups as an angel. In 2022 he co-founded 10x Founders, a ~€160M venture fund structured as a founder-led "super angel" network run by seven serial entrepreneurs and financed by 200+ successful European and US entrepreneurs rather than traditional institutions. He is one of the fund's founding partners.

In parallel, Becker is a co-founder and Entrepreneurial Partner at FLEX Capital, an independent private-equity firm founded in 2018 by six entrepreneurs (Andreas Etten, Christoph Jost, Felix Haas, Jan Becker, Peter Waleczek, and Robert Wuttke). FLEX Capital takes majority (51%+) stakes in profitable, growing internet and software companies with roughly €5M–€30M in revenue — a distinct, later-stage buyout mandate separate from his early-stage angel activity. He is recognized within FLEX Capital as an expert in KPI-driven management.
