Background
Jason F. Jarjosa is Managing Partner and co-manager of Bloomfield Capital, a real estate private equity and private credit firm headquartered in Birmingham, Michigan, just outside Detroit. He and his partners built the firm from a startup into an organization of roughly 20 professionals with offices in Birmingham, MI; New York, NY; and Portland, ME. Bloomfield has funded investments valued at more than $1.2 billion since 2008 and manages over $450 million in capital across real estate, opportunistic, and credit-related strategies.
Before Bloomfield, Jarjosa was Vice President at ValStone Partners, a Michigan- and Baltimore-based private equity firm focused on opportunistic and distressed investments, where he led the investment team in acquiring notes and originating bridge loans across all real estate sectors. He began his career as an investment banker at Schroders (later acquired by Citigroup) in New York.
Jarjosa earned both his BBA (class of 1996) and MBA (class of 2005) from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, graduating with High Distinction. He remains connected to the Ross School as an alumnus profiled by the university.
At Bloomfield, he co-manages the firm's lending and investment platform alongside founder Nicholas S. Coburn and partner Brent K. Truscott, overseeing the firm's income funds (including the $100M Bloomfield Capital Income Fund III) and nationwide direct-lending activity.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests through bridge loans, mezzanine loans, and select preferred equity / joint-venture positions on income-producing commercial real estate — not venture or startup equity.
- Deal size ~$3M–$30M, targeting "small- to medium-sized financings" that larger institutions overlook.
- Prioritizes speed and certainty of execution — typical bridge loans close within ~30 days, and often within two weeks of a signed term sheet.
- Looks for transactions with an urgent closing timeline, a strong value proposition, and a clear exit strategy, usually a refinance or sale within 12–24 months.
- Collateral spans multifamily, office, industrial, retail, hospitality, and specialty assets (hotels, assisted-living/senior housing, manufactured housing).
- In Jarjosa's own words, "Bloomfield continues to present a strong value proposition to investors looking to earn higher risk-adjusted returns" in challenging market conditions.
