Jean Jacques Durand

Jean-Jacques Durand is a French entrepreneur best known as the founder and chairman of Najeti Hôtels & Golfs Collection. He is the son of Jacques Durand, the industrialist behind the Cristallerie d'Arques (the glassmaking group later known as Arc International), one of the largest employers in the Pas-de-Calais. Durand channelled his family heritage into his two lifelong passions — golf and hospitality — building the Najeti group into a collection that today spans 11 hotels and 3 golf courses. The name "Najeti" is an acronym formed from the first syllables of the names of his three children.

The venture began in 1990, when Durand created the Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club at Acquin-Westbécourt, commissioning Dutch architect J.F. Dudok van Heel to design a championship course between Lille and the Côte d'Opale. The hospitality collection formally dates to 1994. In 1997 he launched the group's flagship professional golf tournament, the Open de Saint-Omer, which joined the European Tour calendar in 2002 and later ran under the Allianz Golf Tour banner as one of the highest-endowed events in Europe; the course was named "golf of the year" in 2016. The tournament today continues as the Hauts-de-France Golf Open.

Beyond golf and hotels, Durand is recorded as chairman/director of several entities including Najeti SL, Hôtel de Tourcoing SAS and Eco-Solution SA, and appears in French corporate and investor registries (Pappers, MarketScreener/Zonebourse) in connection with finance and investment vehicles — the basis for his classification as an "angel investor" in investor-lead databases.
