Jeffery Christian

Jeffery E. Christian is a Partner and the Chief Risk Officer at Avalon Global Asset Management, LLC, a San Francisco–based, SEC-registered investment advisor founded in November 1999 that runs an equity-based long/short strategy focused on growth-oriented sectors in developed markets. He joined the firm as a Partner in March 2013 and also serves as its Head of Trading, bringing more than 25 years of investment and trading experience to the role.

Before Avalon, Christian was a Managing Director and Head of West Coast Equity and Equity Derivative Sales at Credit Suisse Securities from 2007 to 2012. Prior to that he was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley from 2004 to 2007, running the Western Region within the firm's equity derivative sales group. He began his career in 1997 as a market maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange with Knight Trading, and was later transferred to the Pacific Coast Options Exchange (Pacific Exchange), where he served as a specialist and risk manager.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Colorado. His professional background is rooted in equity derivatives, options market-making, and trading/risk management rather than early-stage venture or angel investing.
