Jefrey Joe

Jefrey Joe is a co-founder and General Partner of Alpha JWC Ventures, a Southeast Asian early-to-growth stage venture capital firm he launched in Indonesia in 2015 alongside Chandra Tjan and Will Ongkowidjaja (the "JWC" in the firm's name reflects the founders). What began as a two-desk office has grown into a firm with a team of roughly 40 people across Singapore and Indonesia, more than 70 active portfolio companies, and about US$650M in assets under management across three funds.

Before founding Alpha JWC, Joe built a career spanning consulting, operations, and entrepreneurship. He worked as a financial advisor at Ernst & Young and as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, then served as Chief Operating Officer of Groupon Indonesia, the country's leading daily-deals platform, where he focused on technology, customer experience, and logistics. He is also a serial entrepreneur, having started companies in Australia, China, and Indonesia, and co-founded Alterra, Indonesia's pioneering online bill-payment platform.

On the education side, Joe earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management (with an international exchange program at London Business School) and completed Harvard Business School's Owner/President Management (OPM) program. He is a Kauffman Fellow and a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).

Given his background in strategy, operations, and entrepreneurship, Joe positions himself as a hands-on partner who helps founders on business model and strategy, scaling sustainably, and operational excellence. He sits on the boards of several of Indonesia's fastest-growing startups and is active in the regional tech community as a mentor for Founder Institute and Endeavor and as a board advisor to ANGIN (Angel Investment Network Indonesia).
