Jennifer Bawden

Jennifer “Jen” Bawden is the Founder and CEO of Bawden Capital, which public sources describe as a New York venture capital, family-office, and strategic advisory platform. Bawden Capital says it provides financial advisory services, strategic partnerships, and introductions to Fortune 100 decision-makers; Preqin lists it as a U.S.-based single-family office active across private equity, venture capital, and natural resources.

Before Bawden Capital, Bawden built Jennifer Bawden Designs from 1988 to 1999. A profile on her personal site says she created a fashion design and production company whose customers included Bergdorf Goodman, I. Magnin, Nordstrom, and Holt Renfrew, and whose gowns were worn by public figures and entertainers. The same profile says she later worked in marketing at a venture-capital firm before opening Bawden Capital around 2000.

Her education is listed across public profiles as the Private Equity Executive Program at Harvard Business School, a graduate program in Marketing, Merchandising & Design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. She is also described as an author whose Penguin/Random House motivational book was sold internationally.

Bawden’s later work has centered on macroeconomic strategy, commodities, homeland security, and disruptive technology. Bawden Capital’s site says she co-founded a Department of Homeland Security anti-terrorism technology company with the U.S. Department of Energy, funded by DNDO, to develop sensors for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.
