Background

Jen Holmstrom is a Partner at Notable Capital (the venture firm formerly known as GGV Capital), where she leads the Platform team — the group that provides scaling and operational support to portfolio companies across Talent, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and Engineering. She joined the firm in 2016 and has become one of its most visible operating partners, focusing on how founders build leadership teams and go-to-market functions as they scale.

Before venture capital, Holmstrom built her career in technology executive search and talent. She built out the engineering executive-search team at Facebook (now Meta), where she worked closely with the founders of Instagram and Oculus to strengthen each group's core leadership and management functions. Earlier, she held roles at Riviera Partners and SPMB, two well-known technology-focused executive search firms. In November 2015 she joined Highland Capital Partners as a Talent Partner before moving to GGV/Notable the following year.

Holmstrom also co-created Founders + Leaders, a learning platform run out of the firm that delivers leadership-development training, go-to-market workshops, and hiring best practices to founders and their teams. She holds a B.S. from Boston College and an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Operates within Notable Capital's mandate: early-to-growth-stage investing in cloud infrastructure, enterprise/SaaS software, and consumer internet companies.
  • Firm check sizes range roughly from $250K at seed to $25M in later rounds, with a sweet spot around $10M, backed by an approximately $4B fund.
  • Holmstrom's distinctive lens is talent and team-building: she evaluates and supports companies heavily on their ability to hire and develop world-class leadership, recruit against big-tech competition, and stand up Head of People / go-to-market functions early.
  • Her stated focus is helping founders "scale" — providing platform support across Talent, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and Engineering rather than being purely a deal-sourcing partner.
