Joanne Pulles

Joanne F. Pulles is Vice President of Community Engagement at HCA Healthcare and has served as President of The HCA Healthcare Foundation since 1999. In her VP role she leads a team responsible for the company's social and charitable investment, colleague engagement, strategic partnerships, and scholarship programs. As the Foundation's chief executive, she guides grantmaking to more than 300 organizations annually, working with the Foundation Board to manage over $200M in assets and roughly $28M each year in grants and matching gifts.

She was the founding President of The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, the company's employee relief fund established in 2005, which has provided more than $94 million in assistance to over 50,000 HCA families facing hardship or disaster; she now serves as Vice-Chair of the Hope Fund Board. She also oversees the Foundation's Healthier Tomorrow Fund, an ~$80M impact initiative focused on community health needs and health equity.

Pulles holds a Master's degree in Health Services Administration from George Washington University (1988) and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University (1983). She is active in corporate-citizenship leadership circles, including The Conference Board's Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy councils, and has served on HCA Healthcare's Executive DEI Council and ESG Steering Committee. Locally she has been active with Rotary and community and church organizations in the Nashville/Franklin area.
