John Mccarthy

John A. McCarthy, Jr. was listed by ZS Genetics as Chief Executive Officer and as a member of its board of directors. ZS Genetics described him as an executive who had spent more than 25 years leading science- and technology-based companies from early-stage organizations into commercial entities across private and public markets, including companies that completed three IPOs.

Before ZS Genetics, McCarthy served as CEO and Director of CryoXtract Instruments, a private-equity-backed developer of automation products and solutions for the life-sciences industry. Earlier, he was President and CEO of Qteros, Inc., an alternative-energy technology company. InVivo’s 2016 proxy statement confirms that he was then a Class II director, chair of the Audit Committee, a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and an audit committee financial expert; the same filing says he did not stand for re-election in 2016.

He graduated with high honors from Lehigh University and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
