John Mcgillian

John McGillian is a long-time alternative-investments professional whose career spans hedge funds, managed futures, and private wealth. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Johns Hopkins University (1970–1974). His investment career includes founding Caxton Symmetry (c. 1990–2000) and later serving as a Managing Partner at Symmetry Partners, LLC beginning around 2000, building expertise in systematic and commodity-trading-advisor (CTA) strategies.

He went on to found Symmetry Global Advisors LLC, where he is Founder, CIO & CEO. The Symmetry Global fund — an offering built around systematic CTA / managed-futures strategies — was co-operated by McGillian and Barnaby Ferrero until 2013 and was ultimately wound down and closed around 2016.
