John Rabby

John C. Rabby is an agricultural life-sciences executive and board member with more than 30 years of global agribusiness-development experience. Mississippi State University lists him as a 2021 Distinguished Fellow for the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology. He earned a B.S. in Entomology in 1977 and an M.S. in Integrated Pest Management in 1979 from Mississippi State.

Rabby began his career in agricultural chemicals and crop protection, spending more than 20 years in leadership roles at American Cyanamid Company and BASF after BASF acquired American Cyanamid in 2000. He later served as CEO and President of ADAMA’s North American business unit, then known as Makhteshim-Agan, and as a global director on ADAMA’s executive board.

In 2011, Rabby founded RE LLC, a global agribusiness consulting firm. From 2013 to 2019, he was President and CEO of AgBiome Innovations, a North Carolina biotechnology company commercializing products from AgBiome’s Genesis discovery platform. AgBiome’s 2016 launch announcement described him as leading the AgBiome Innovations business and cited his 40 years of agriculture-industry experience.

Rabby has also been active in North Carolina’s life-sciences ecosystem governance. Mississippi State described him as the elected chairman of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center Board of Directors; NCBiotech’s current board page lists him as a board member and former president of Altaecore / Zymtronix Re, LLC. Altaecore lists him as a board member, and Zymtronix announced on August 11, 2025 that he had joined its board of directors.
