Jonathan Myers

Jonathan Myers joined Ventac Partners as a Partner in August 2014. He brings 17+ years of experience in venture fundraising and pharma/biotech transactions, spanning the full deal cycle from initial screening and due diligence through valuation, negotiation and closing. During his time in the San Francisco Bay Area he worked on more than 50 deals, including the completion of a roughly $400M out-licensing transaction alongside a range of in-licensing, formulation, manufacturing and option agreements.

Before Ventac, Myers was Founder and Managing Director of Nine Bridges Capital, a Shanghai-based life-science financial advisory and business-development consulting firm. Earlier in his career he held business-development and corporate-finance roles in the pharma/biotech industry in the Bay Area and in Basel, Switzerland, with companies including Pain Therapeutics, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Chiron Corporation and Roche. He began his career as a chemical process engineer with Nobel Industries (Akzo Nobel), working in Sweden, Chile and the United States.

He earned an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and a BSc in chemical engineering from Michigan State University. Having lived and worked on multiple continents, he is based in Shanghai, where much of his work centers on connecting Western life-science innovators with Asian capital and partners.

Ventac Partners itself is an advisory and company-building firm founded in 2002 (co-founded by Mikael Ørum and Robert L. Buchanan) that helps found, finance, scale and exit global life-science companies across biotech, pharma and medtech, with offices and partnerships across Europe, the US and Asia.
