Jos Hgm Paardekooper

Jos H.G.M. Paardekooper is a Dutch real-estate professional and project developer. Reshape Properties’ firm biography states that he studied business economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and later gained broad real-estate and project-development experience at institutional and private enterprises including FGH Bank and RGD. The same biography says he was responsible for large-scale projects in the Netherlands and Belgium, structured institutional investment funds, and supervised investment transactions.

PropertyNL reported that Reshape Properties was founded in 2008 by Jos Paardekooper, with Sven Mathijssen joining as partner two years later. Reshape’s own site positions the firm as a redevelopment specialist: it says the company is “a leader in redevelopment all over the Netherlands” and that its work combines customer demand, location, sustainability, and technology.

Paardekooper is publicly identified in municipal and local-news sources as director-owner of Reshape Properties/Beryllus. In December 2025, the municipality of Hilversum reported that he signed a letter of intent with alderman Floris Voorink for a planned 70-home development at the former Rabobank office site at Thebe 22 in Hilversum’s Arenapark.

• Reshape’s model is project-led real-estate redevelopment rather than conventional venture angel investing. Its site says the firm coordinates “all aspects” of development or redevelopment, from locating sites and developing concepts to attracting financiers, managing architects/contractors, securing permits, construction/renovation, and sales.
• The firm explicitly says it “always co-invest[s]” in its projects while directing the full process and maintaining final responsibility.
• The thesis centers on financially profitable redevelopment that improves the asset and surrounding area. Reshape states: “Clearly, a project needs to be financially profitable” and adds that it aims to “make the location a better place” for users and society.
• Sector focus is urban redevelopment, especially transformations from offices or telecom/utility assets into residential units. The Beryllus Alpha Portfolio, acquired with Atlas Invest’s real-estate investment arm in 2011, consisted of 24 KPN telecom buildings with “attractive redevelopment potential.”
• Sustainability is part of project selection and execution: Reshape says it considers spatial integration, green spaces, the human dimension, social value, and proven renewable-energy techniques, including gas-independent buildings, solar panels, and thermal energy installations.
