Background

Juan Eusebio Pujol is an Operating Partner at Miura Partners, the Barcelona- and Madrid-based private equity firm he joined in 2011. In his role he works hand-in-hand with the management teams of Miura's portfolio companies, sits on the firm's Investment Committee, and leads the firm's ESG strategy across the fund and its holdings. He holds board seats at a number of portfolio and related companies, including TVC, Tekman, EfectoLed, Grupo Tragaluz, Terrats Medical and Proclinic.

Pujol built his career first in strategy consulting, working as a consultant at The MAC Group (Barcelona/Madrid) and at Gemini Consulting (London). In the 1990s he was one of the founding members of Cluster Consulting, a Barcelona-based strategy firm acquired in 2000 by the Chicago-based Diamond Technology Partners. He subsequently moved into operating roles, serving as CEO and shareholder at Santa & Cole and at NODE, and acting as an executive advisor and business angel to a range of companies.

He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Central de Barcelona and an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau). His stated areas of expertise include talent and professional-services management, e-commerce, ESG and sustainability, governance set-up, and partnering closely with portfolio-company CEOs.

Miura Partners itself was founded in 2008 as a purpose-driven private equity firm. It manages more than €1.5bn in assets and has invested in over 70 companies for a combined value in excess of €3.0bn, focusing on family-owned and entrepreneurial businesses in niche industries across Iberia and Southern Europe.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Backs established, small and mid-sized family-owned and entrepreneurial companies — usually via control (buyout) stakes rather than minority venture bets, at Miura's firm level.
  • Miura Fund IV (closed 2024 at its €475m hard cap) targets controlling positions in sectors where the firm has deep expertise: healthcare, education, business services, consumer goods and industrial niches, with equity tickets of roughly €20–50m plus co-investment.
  • Pujol's personal edge is operational and governance transformation — professionalizing management, setting up governance, and partnering directly with CEOs; he explicitly frames his contribution around talent management, professional services, e-commerce and ESG.
  • Leads Miura's ESG and sustainability agenda, reflected in the firm's dedicated impact fund (€135m, 2024) — sustainability and responsible ownership are core to how he evaluates and stewards companies.
  • Geographically Iberia-first (Spain and Portugal), extending across Southern Europe.
