Background
Kamil Kopka is a digital-media and e-commerce executive with roughly a decade of commercial leadership experience before becoming an active angel investor. He began his career in the sales department at the Polish broadcaster TVN, then moved into online publishing — holding a head-of-sales role connected to the fashion vertical (Lamode.info) and overseeing the merger of the internet sales operations of G+J Polska and Burda's portals during his time at Burda International Polska.
In 2014 he joined Allani.pl, a fashion-aggregation marketplace, as Sales Director. Over roughly two years he grew the company's revenue several-fold, a trajectory that culminated in Allani's acquisition by the Wirtualna Polska group (Domodi/WP) — reportedly delivering around a 500% return to its investors. That operator-to-exit experience is the foundation he draws on as both a marketplace CEO and an angel.
In January 2017 Kopka joined Wedding.pl, Poland's leading wedding portal, as CEO and President of the Board, taking over the top role from co-founder Paweł Sala (who moved to CTO; Sala had previously built TwojaSuknia.pl). Under Kopka the company repositioned from a content portal into a full marketplace connecting engaged couples with vetted wedding-service vendors. He has described the platform's scale as reaching the large majority of Polish couples, with roughly 100,000 brides registering annually and traffic spiking toward several hundred thousand visits per month in peak wedding season.
As CEO he led Wedding.pl's fundraising, including a ~3 million PLN round in late 2017 backed by Protos VC and a syndicate of business angels drawn from the Polish tech scene (managers and founders associated with companies such as DocPlanner, Brainly, GoldenLine and Joymile). His own angel activity sits alongside this operating role.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests as an individual angel at the seed / pre-revenue stage, putting personal capital into early companies in exchange for equity.
- Focus skews toward sectors he knows operationally: internet marketplaces, e-commerce, and marketing/SaaS technology (e.g., push-notification and marketing-automation tooling).
- Brings a commercial / go-to-market lens — his edge is scaling revenue and sales (the lever he pulled at Allani), so he is well suited to founders who need help turning a product into a growth engine.
- Geographic focus is Poland and the broader CEE region, consistent with his network and operating footprint.
Notable Investments
- PushPushGo — Polish web/mobile push-notification and marketing-automation SaaS; Kopka was among the early business angels (a group that included Mariusz Gralewski, Marcin Kurek and Michał Skrzyński) who backed the company at the seed, pre-revenue stage before its later institutional round led by bValue.
- Allani.pl — fashion-aggregation marketplace where he served as Sales Director; listed among his holdings/associations and later acquired by Wirtualna Polska (Domodi/WP).
