Background

Kimberly D. Futrell is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Pharos Capital Group, LLC, a Dallas- and Nashville-based private equity firm founded in 1998 by Dr. Kneeland Youngblood and Bob Crants. She joined the firm in 2000 and has served in its senior finance and compliance leadership ever since. In her role she manages accounting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, tax, audit, investor reporting, and human resources, and she oversees and monitors implementation of the firm's compliance program.

Before joining Pharos, Ms. Futrell worked from 1995 to 2000 at a New York Stock Exchange–listed company, where her responsibilities spanned accounting, financial modeling, and planning and analysis. Earlier in her career she worked as an accountant in private industry. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Lubbock Christian University and is based out of the firm's Dallas office.

Pharos Capital Group is a physician-founded healthcare investment firm that has raised well over $1 billion (roughly $1.5B+ cumulatively per firm disclosures) across multiple private equity funds. In 2013 the firm sharpened its mandate toward companies that reduce healthcare disparities in the U.S. As CFO/CCO, Futrell sits on the operational/back-office side of that platform — managing fund finances, LP reporting, and SEC compliance — rather than sourcing or leading individual investments.
