Konsta Kouzmitchev

Konsta (formally Konstantin) Kouzmitchev is a Finnish investor and student leader with Russian-immigrant roots, originally from Joensuu, Finland. He studied Industrial Engineering and Management ("production economics") at Aalto University, where he was deeply embedded in the student and startup community — serving on the Aalto University Student Union representative council, leading a communications team for the Slush startup conference as a volunteer, and joining Wave Ventures, Europe's largest student-run venture fund. His work at Wave Ventures, where he held the title of Investment Manager, is the basis of his investor profile.

Wave Ventures operates as a rotating team of top university students under the age of 25 who source, evaluate, and back the earliest-stage founders across Helsinki, Stockholm, and Tallinn. As an Investment Manager, Kouzmitchev was part of this student-led deal team, screening angel/pre-seed opportunities in the Nordic and Baltic ecosystems — the fund's core mandate of "betting on the youth."

Beyond investing, Kouzmitchev became a prominent voice in Finnish higher-education and civic life. In November 2021 he was elected President of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for 2022, campaigning to represent immigrants and voices "not often heard in Finland," and centering student wellbeing and anti-burnout policy. He later served as a Leading Expert in Education Policy at Akava (the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff) and stood as a candidate in Finland's 2023 parliamentary elections. He has also pursued studies in Theology at the University of Helsinki and completed military service in the Finnish Defence Forces.
