Kostas Alevizopoulos

Dr. Kostas Alevizopoulos is a biotech executive and investor with more than 25 years of international leadership experience spanning therapeutic drug development, diagnostics, medical devices, and venture creation. He joined Ventac Partners — a life-sciences venture advisory and venture-creation firm with offices across Europe, the US, and Asia — in 2007, where he is a core Partner contributing scientific, operational, and strategic expertise across the life-sciences value chain. His operating experience includes leading programs from discovery and preclinical research through Phase II clinical development, with hands-on work in regulatory strategy, CMC oversight, and managing globally outsourced development networks coordinating more than 150 CROs and CMOs.

Alongside his Ventac role, Kostas currently serves as CEO of APIM Therapeutics, a Phase 2 oncology company developing first-in-class peptide therapeutics, and is a co-founder of Alterbiotix, a company in the anti-infectives space. He brings direct experience as CEO, CSO, scientific advisor, and company co-founder, with a track record in biotech strategy, fundraising, and investor relations.

Before his current positions, Kostas held senior leadership roles including CSO of Gerolymatos International SA, CEO of Medexis SA, Head of R&D at Apotech Corporation (Switzerland), and Head of Preclinical R&D at Biovista, Inc. (USA). He has held various executive, board, and advisory positions across multiple Ventac portfolio companies.

He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Lausanne and a Biology degree from the University of Athens, and completed postdoctoral training at the Swiss Institute of Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) and the Schering-Plough Research Institute in the United States. He is the author of 40+ peer-reviewed publications, a co-inventor on multiple patent families, and has training in European patent law.
