Kwasi Kyei

Kwasi Kyei is a healthcare investor-turned-operator. He is Co-Founder and President (also described as COO) of Handspring Health, a virtual behavioral-health clinic for children, teenagers, and young adults that pairs evidence-based therapy with parent coaching and clinician training. He co-founded the company with Sahil Choudhry, a fellow Cigna Ventures alumnus, and the two launched it out of their shared healthcare venture-capital backgrounds.

Before founding Handspring, Kyei was a Principal at Cigna Ventures, the roughly $450M corporate venture arm of The Cigna Group, where he focused on late-venture and early-growth investments in healthcare. His deal work there included companies such as Datavant (health-data connectivity), Ginger (mental health, later merged with Headspace), Octave (behavioral health), and Cleerly Health (cardiac imaging/diagnostics).

Earlier in his career, Kyei worked as a healthcare investor at Sandbox Industries, in investment banking covering healthcare at UBS, and in corporate development and M&A at The Advisory Board Company. This blend of banking, corporate development, and venture experience underpins both his investing lens and his operating role.

Kyei earned a Bachelor's degree from Davidson College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
