Kyle Boyd

Kyle R. Boyd is a wealth-management executive and licensed attorney with more than 30 years in financial services. He spent roughly 19 years (from April 2004) at Altavista Wealth Management, Inc., an Asheville, NC–based registered investment advisor, where he served as Managing Principal, Chief Investment Officer, and corporate Secretary. In that role he managed ultra-high-net-worth individual and institutional relationships and set firm investment policy. When Beacon Pointe Advisors, LLC acquired Altavista (transaction closed February 1, 2022), Boyd — alongside colleague Dan Akers — became a Partner and Managing Director at Beacon Pointe, continuing to serve clients from the firm's Asheville office.

Before Altavista, Boyd built a career in trust and investment counseling. He was Senior Vice President and Chief Trust Officer for Merrill Lynch Trust Company, where he sat on the Investment Committee and supervised trust administration across offices in Greensboro, Chicago, Bloomfield Hills, Columbus, and Washington, D.C., overseeing roughly $1.7 billion in trust assets. He also served as President of Boys, Arnold Trust Company; as Principal and Senior Investment Counselor at the investment-counseling firm Boys, Arnold and Co. (where he was on the Investment Committee); and earlier as Vice President and Regional Manager in Wachovia Bank of North Carolina's Trust Division.

Boyd is a graduate of The University of Alabama and holds a law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law; he also completed the American Bankers Association National Trust School. He is a licensed attorney and a member of the Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina state bar associations. He is active in his community as a vestry member at Trinity Episcopal Church in Asheville and has served on the boards of Asheville Catholic School, the Cradle of Forestry, and the National Independent Trust Company. He lives in Asheville with his wife, Martha, and their two daughters.
