Background

Laurent Boldrini has a quantitative-finance and technology background. From 2004 to 2007 he managed funds of hedge funds at Altigefi, a Paris-based fund-of-hedge-funds manager that ran roughly $1bn (its flagship being the "Altipro" family, later majority-acquired by London-listed Integrated Asset Management in 2007). At Altigefi he was responsible for macro analysis, strategic allocation and portfolio construction. In November 2007 he joined Société Générale Cross Asset Research in Paris, working within the quantitative research team led by Andrew Lapthorne. Earlier in his career he had been a front-office analyst at Société Générale, developing trading applications for the bank's arbitrage desks.

On the education side, he holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) and a finance qualification specialising in quantitative analysis from the CNAM. More recently he completed the University of Oxford's Entrepreneurship: Venture Finance Programme (2021) and has pursued technical certifications in AI, RAG and vector databases — signalling an active interest in the AI and deep-tech side of early-stage investing.

Today he is one of the twelve-plus founding associates of Good Only Ventures, described as France's first venture vehicle wholly dedicated to impact. The vehicle is backed by well-known non-profits — the French Red Cross, Handicap International, Surfrider Foundation Europe and the GoodPlanet Foundation — which help source and vet deals. Alongside this he invests as an individual business angel, using the "Altigefi" identity/domain for his personal activity, which is the capacity in which he is listed here as an angel investor.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Invests through Good Only Ventures, whose stated aim is to combine *"performance financière et impact positif mesurable"* (financial performance with measurable positive impact) — backing entrepreneurs tackling major social and environmental challenges while minimising negative externalities.
  • Stage & ticket: primarily Seed (extending to Series A), with equity checks of roughly €50k–€250k per deal.
  • Impact-first screen: companies must address one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals as a core part of the business, not as a side effect.
  • Sectors: health/medtech, environment & greentech, foodtech and anti-food-waste, civictech/govtech, energy, and social inclusion.
  • NGO-validated sourcing: deals are supported and de-risked by partner charities (French Red Cross, Handicap International, Surfrider, GoodPlanet), so demonstrable, credible impact backed by domain experts is a differentiator.
  • Personal angel activity: invests his own capital as a business angel at seed stage, consistent with his fund's impact and early-stage focus.

  • Kikleo — Software/hardware to measure and cut food waste in collective and institutional catering.
