Background
Lennart Stoltenberg is a Munich-based private-equity investment professional. He earned an M.Sc. in Management and Technology (with a specialization in Finance and Chemistry) from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) between roughly 2014 and 2016.
He began his investing career at Siemens Venture Capital / next47 in Munich, where he focused on investments into technology-oriented European and U.S. venture-capital funds — a fund-of-funds / LP-style mandate. He then moved to EMH Partners, the Munich growth-equity firm founded in 2016 by Maximilian and Sebastian Kuss, which has more than €1.5bn in committed capital and invests minority and majority stakes in fast-growing, profitable European (DACH-focused) companies. At EMH he worked as a private-equity investment professional on growth-technology deals in the DACH region.
Lennart subsequently joined SEVEST, a Munich private investment firm affiliated with the Serafin industrial holding group. He has been part of the SEVEST investment team since the firm's inception, joining first as an Investment Manager and later being promoted to Senior Investment Manager. SEVEST runs a lower/mid-market buyout strategy centered on DACH advanced-industrial businesses, backed by an in-house operations team that drives an operator-led, active-ownership value-creation approach.
Investment Thesis & Focus
- Invests through SEVEST's mid-market buyout fund (~€250m, launched Nov 2022) — this is a control/LBO strategy, not venture or seed investing.
- Sectors: advanced and differentiated industrials, industrial technology, and related software and services businesses.
- Geography: DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
- Targets: market-leading companies and "hidden champions" — established, cash-generative SMEs rather than early-stage startups.
- Value-creation model: SEVEST states it drives returns "by an active outbound sourcing strategy, and through an operator-led active value creation approach, executed by an experienced and dedicated in-house operations team," leveraging its Serafin/family-industrial heritage as a differentiator "unmatched in our size bracket."
- His earlier career (next47, EMH) gives him a technology-and-growth lens applied to industrial businesses.
Notable Investments
- Asp Equipment — aerospace & defense company; SEVEST investment reported ~March 2026.
- DSI Aerospace — aerospace technology / systems business.
- Heinrich Sauter Fabrik technischer Federn — manufacturer of technical springs (industrial supplies/parts).
- *(Earlier, at EMH Partners, he worked on DACH growth-technology deals; specific named transactions attributable to him are not publicly disclosed.)*
