Lin Shuiyuan

Lin Shuiyuan is best documented publicly as the founder and chairman of Century Ocean / Shiji Haihang Technology Group, an AI education and education-technology company based in Xiamen. Preqin identifies him as Century Ocean’s founder and CEO, a Tsinghua University master’s graduate, and a founding partner of LongLine Capital.

Lin studied software at Tsinghua University and graduated as a postgraduate in 2009, according to a 2024 Haixi Morning News profile republished by Sina Finance. He said he evaluated opportunities in e-commerce, games, and education, but chose technology education because he saw it as more meaningful. His first education venture was an online C2C education platform using appointment booking and virtual classrooms, but he later shut it down after the platform failed to attract capital.

After that first startup, Lin began experimenting with investment through chamber-of-commerce networks and exposure to different types of businesses. In 2017, he returned to Xiamen with a group of Tsinghua alumni and co-founded Century Ocean / Shiji Haihang, building products around programming education, smart campuses, regional education bureau data systems, and AI education services.

Century Ocean has since been described as a national high-tech enterprise and an education digitalization provider with dual headquarters in Xiamen and Beijing. Public reports say it has served more than 100 education-management agencies and thousands of primary and secondary schools across China.
