Background

Luca Rinaldo Contardo Padulli di Vighignolo is an Italian financier, investor, landowner and art collector. UK Companies House records list him as Count Luca Rinaldo Contardo Padulli, born May 1955, Italian nationality, and formerly a director of Camomille Associates Limited. He was appointed to Camomille Associates on 27 June 1994 and again on 28 April 2005, resigning from the later directorship on 31 March 2015.

Padulli’s earlier career is reported to have started in finance after economics studies; Italian and UK press accounts describe him as Bocconi-educated and as having moved to London to work in finance. Who Owns Norfolk, citing The Times, says he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and Paribas before setting up an investment firm in London and co-founding Camomille Associates, a hedge-fund/investment-management business that reportedly once had about £2 billion in assets.

His current investment platform is most visible through Infusive and Achernar Assets. Infusive says Padulli founded the firm and that his long-term consumer-investing approach inspired its “Consumer Alpha” framework. Infusive describes itself as a consumer-sector investment manager, now owned by Gyde Equities, which is controlled by Achernar Asset AG and backed by the Agusta and Paduli families plus Infusive leadership.

Padulli is also active in real assets. Press accounts link him to Albanwise Wallace Estates, large UK agricultural and property holdings, and significant transactions in Milan, Singapore and Switzerland. Achernar’s own site lists him as a director and says Achernar invests across real estate and infrastructure, hospitality, financial services, and energy/sustainability.

Investment Thesis & Focus

  • Infusive’s stated strategy is to invest in listed companies benefiting from “consistent consumer preference and pricing power.”
  • The core consumer thesis is “Consumer Alpha”: companies whose products consumers love, trust and repeatedly buy, creating long-term compounding potential.
  • Infusive screens for consumer-facing public companies, including beverages, food, retail, entertainment, streaming and travel, then applies thematic fit, valuation discipline and portfolio-construction controls.
  • The firm favors durable demand, emotional brand loyalty, global reach, diversified revenue streams and attractive risk-adjusted return characteristics.
  • Achernar’s broader investment focus includes real estate and infrastructure projects, hospitality assets, financial-services businesses, and energy-transition companies.
  • I could not verify a public seed-stage angel check size for Padulli; the available sources point more strongly to public equities, private equity/credit, direct assets and family-backed investment activity than to a conventional startup angel profile.
