Luke Sorenson

Luke Sorenson is a Managing Partner at Sorenson Capital, a Utah-based private equity and venture firm that he helped build from its earliest days. The firm was co-founded in the early 2000s by former Bain Capital partner Fraser Bullock along with Ron Mika, Mark Ludwig, Tim Layton, and Luke Sorenson. Today Sorenson Capital manages well over $1 billion in assets (reported at $1.6B+), investing across early- and growth-stage product-first B2B software and cybersecurity companies as well as growth-equity and buyout positions in operating businesses.

Within the firm, Luke heads the Aerospace and Defense team. Before Sorenson Capital, Luke worked at several Sorenson-family businesses, including Sorenson Development (real estate development) and Sorenson Communications, the video relay service company for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. He describes his time working under his father and grandfather — both serial entrepreneurs — as his most valuable education.

Luke holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University. He is also an advocate for social-impact investing, serving on the boards of the Sorenson Impact Foundation and Cause for Hope – One Life at a Time, a nonprofit focused on enabling sustainable self-reliance in emerging countries.
